Custom drafting and design of new homes and cottages

We have experience designing homes and cottages from 650 square feet to 8000 square feet. Design of second suites and multi-family dwellings

Municipalities permit the addition of second suites and sometimes third suites within a single-family home. Some municipalities also permit a detached additional residential unit or a suite above a detached accessory building. You may even be looking to add an additional suite to an existing multi-family (apartment) building.

The Zoning and Building Code requirements to complete these projects can be complicated. Whether for an on-site consultation to help navigate the requirements or a complete set of permit plans, we have designed hundreds of additional suites in all configurations and can confidently assist with yours.

Guidance in Building Code interpretations related to most building types

The Building Code is a complicated set of rules; using and interpreting the requirements of the Building Code can be confusing and sometimes overwhelming. Although the Building Department may provide some guidance, they are not in the business of providing economical and viable solutions to issues that can arise in the design and construction of buildings. Sunrise Drafting can assist by providing Building Code guidance regarding your building design and disputes over compliance as well as home warranty disputes related to your builders or contractors obligations.
